Worried owner comes back from 1-month vacation to their house-cat suddenly being much bigger, is surprised a days later when they find out the reason why: 'She looked totally normal 4 weeks ago'

We always say that it is important to take notice of any and all changes that your cat goes through. Cats are secretive creatures by nature. If they need help, they don't like showing it. It's our responsibility to know them well enough and to be attentive enough to catch the changes as they happen. Sometimes, it can be your cat suddenly becoming cuddlier for no apparent reason. It could be your cat suddenly not eating as much as they used to, or not cleaning themselves, or not having the energy to jump quite as high. And sometimes, it can be the opposite. Your cat might suddenly gain weight, and that is what happened in today's story.

An owner came back after a month-long vacation to their cat suddenly being… much bigger than before. A female cat, so the first guess would be the cat being pregnant, except she's an indoor cat, and she was not let out during that time. And so, the owner starts worrying, and then… the explanation happens.

Oh, we would have been so, so worried too. Our first guess, obviously, would have been pregnancy. But it's a house cat that never goes outside, so how would that happen. It has to be something worse, right? Or does it?

On the one hand, thank goodness it's pregnancy and that the pregnancy went through fine. On the other hand, boy, would we have been mad at the neighbors who let their unneutered cat run around the neighborhood impregnating others. We hope the neighbors know about it, because at the very least, they should be paying some child support.
